The event honored Legg Mason and CEO Joseph Sullivan with the John Graham Tucker Leadership Award for their commitment to “Investing to Improve Lives.” The award, presented that evening by Mr. Tucker, is meant to recognize those who show the same level of long-term commitment and generosity of spirit exhibited by Mr. Tucker who cofounded Books for Kids in 1986 with others who were dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in their community.

The money raised through this event will help us accomplish our goals for the upcoming year, such as: ensuring that all our libraries have literacy programs with a dedicated Library Specialist; donating more books for children’s home libraries so that they can enjoy books at home and increased read-aloud hours with parents and caregivers; and equipping all our libraries nationwide with enough books on their shelves so they can conduct lending regularly and successfully.
